How much time do spend looking down at your phone / tablet / iPad / laptop each day? As you tilt your head the amount of stress on the structures of your cervical, thoracic and to a slightly lesser extent your lumbar spine is increased (from 10lbs. at no tilt up to 60lbs. at a 60 degree tilt) and the muscles of those areas have to work 2-6 times harder just to hold your head up. This can have long term effects on your posture, spinal degeneration and nervous system integrity. Short term this can cause neck, mid and low back pain, headaches and a myriad of other musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal symptoms.
Remember this the next time you are on you phone and KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!
